Award winning writer/director Alexis Bicât has written four features and one TV show, notably a groundbreaking heist movie Bench starring Nick Moran which was mentored by producers Barry Hanson and Michael Wearing. He has written, directed or produced short film dramas for major UK and US broadcasters, including: BBC, Sky, Channel 5, PBS, TV Valencia, Fox Children’s Channel, Cinefil and more. He resumed his directing career with Romchyk (2025), the acclaimed short film highlighting the cost of the war in Ukraine effecting children which will be out there this year. The film was watched and praised by Pope Francis at The Vatican and won the Oscar qualifying San Jose International Film Festival, the audience award for best emerging filmmaker at Cambria Film Festival, Sunderland Shorts Film Festival, and Mansfield Town Film Festival with a double win including Best Director.
