Brioni Farren is an up-and-coming writer based in Oxford who has honed her craft through prestigious training programs at institutions such as the National Film and Television School (for Good Grief), the British Film Institute (for Listen), and the National Theatre (for KATAVA). She was also a BAFTA mentee, further developing her skills through their mentorship programme.
Brioni was part of the 2023-24 cohort of We Are Parable’s Momentum programme in partnership with Channel 4 and Sony Pictures. She was the winner of the Disney+ x Bluezoo Success Story initiative, where she is currently developing an original project. She is also an awardee of the BFI’s Short Cut Film Fund for her latest short film, 4:18, which is currently in post-production.
Her first short film, Listen, was screened at The Next Station Film Festival, an offshoot of the Oscar-qualifying Odense Film Festival, earning nominations in all three major categories. Alongside her own creative projects, Brioni has worked as a continuity assistant on notable productions, including Netflix’s Luther and Lucasfilm’s Andor. She also serves on the advisory board at the British Independent Film Awards (BIFA).
