Cecilia Muylaert is a Portuguese-Brazilian film composer based in Paris. A classically trained pianist, she studied at the École Normale de Musique de Paris and graduated in Music and Musicology from the Paris-Sorbonne University before shifting her focus to composing following her studies in Film Scoring and Contemporary Composition at the University of Leeds, UK.
She has composed original music for fiction and documentary films (France 5 TV) and has been a selected composer at the traditional Festival International Music and Cinema Marseille for two consecutive years (2023, 2024). She has also been one of eleven composers chosen worldwide to attend the SESAC Scores Beck Diversity Project workshop in Los Angeles (2019), where she received hands-on mentorship from Christophe Beck (Frozen, Ant-Man) and Danny Lux (Grey’s Anatomy).
A versatile composer, she draws inspiration from various musical genres, often combining orchestral writing with electronic elements. She aspires to fully immerse in each project’s artistic universe, creating unique sound worlds for each project.
