Statement

Tomoko Hirasawa is an award-winning multilingual Japanese editor based between the UK, Spain and Japan.

Recent credits include a feature documentary “Bound”, nominated for the Audience Award at Festival du Nouveau Cinéma Montréal 2021, “Mitaka Sumo School”, winner of Best Documentary at the Tokyo Lift-Off Film Festival 2018.

With a background in creating numerous social impact campaign videos for organisations such as WWF, Amnesty International and Change.org, she has worked on a wide range of socio-political issues; climate justice at COP26, long-term detention of immigrants in Japan, and abolishment of nuclear weapons. Most recently, the campaign film for LEGO, “The A to Z of Awesome”, a community-centred social media project highlighting LGBTQIA+ voices, has won the Campaign of the Year by Rainbow Honours 2023.
